TARP fraud?

I am just wondering if anyone is watching out to see if the same corporate jerks who played the overstating profits game in the 1990's and 2000's may now be switching their game to understating profits now that that may get them free public money in the TARP bail out program. I have no evidence that this is happening, and I am not making the claim that it is. But, it seems entirely plausible if not probable that some companies may be doing this. It makes plenty of sense for them to do it in a warped, dishonest way. They can make more money being "un-profitable" right now and not even do any work. Then later when the "recession" is over they can go back to their old game of overstating profits.

I hope some watchdog somewhere is looking into this possibility, even though they would probably be ignored and pooh poohed if not shunned if they actually found proof of it, at least until a new scandal is full blown. Can't catch anything while its happening if you're a federal regulator. You just wait until its full blown and then claim you never could have known.
